POSITION:            Odyssey High School Coaching Staff (Head Coach, Asst. Coach)

F.L.S.A.:                Exempt/Seasonal

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Be at least 21 years of age

• Experience in chosen sport 

• Possess effective communication skills

• Ability to work part-time, evenings and weekends during the sport season

• CPR and first aid certified

• Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card

• Obtain NFHS certificate within 30 days of hire
• Obtain concussion awareness certification within 30 days of hire

REPORTS TO:      High School Athletic Director

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Additional assignment to current employment contract for Odyssey employees.  Community members will be seasonal employees of the school.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Comprehensive knowledge of the rules and fundamentals of sport

2. Maintain an accurate inventory of school equipment.
3. To model fundamental skills. 
4. To screen student athletes for membership on a team. 
5. Provide eligibility lists, rosters, and other paperwork as required by administration.
6. Attend all practices and games

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Work collaboratively with other coaches & staff.

2. Follow district policies, rules and regulations.

3. Abide by AIA rules & regulations.

4. Follows the direction of the Athletic Director and head coach if applicable.

5. Maintain positive relations with students & parents.

6. Model proper dress, language, demeanor, and student/teacher relations.
